1. What exactly gets deleted
In WiseData Time the account is not individual: it belongs to the company. A single account holds your workspaces, your team, the customers, the projects, the time entries, the billing rates and the costs.
Deleting the account therefore does not mean leaving the system — it means shutting down the entire company on the platform. Every user loses access, and there is no reduced version of the account that lives on afterwards.
If all you want is to stop paying, cut costs or remove someone from the system, read the alternatives in section 7 before deleting.
2. Who can delete the account
Only the account owner — the person registered as the company's owner in WiseData Time. No other user sees this option: administrators, managers and other team members simply have no access to it.
That restriction is deliberate. A permanent action that erases everyone's work cannot depend on a single team member's login.
The request is also limited to a few attempts per hour, as extra protection in case a session is compromised.
3. What to do before deleting
Keep what you will need: export the reports, the time entries and the profitability figures that still matter to your operation, in the formats the Platform offers.
Close out what is pending: open timesheet periods and pending approvals will no longer be available.
Check the sync indicator: entries recorded offline that have not reached the server yet never exist in the account and are lost along with the device.
Tell your team: every member is signed out at the same instant and receives an email saying the company account has been closed.
Have your password ready — and, if your account uses two-factor authentication, the authenticator app too. Both are requested at confirmation.
4. The path inside the platform
Sign in to WiseData Time as the account owner, open Settings and go to the Danger zone tab, which gathers the actions that cannot be undone. The delete option lives there.
Step 1 — Consequences: the first screen lists everything that will happen. It is read-only; nothing has been executed yet.
Step 2 — Reason: you pick the main reason for leaving from a list (not using it, too complex, missing features, switched to another system, privacy concerns, price, other) and may add a free-text comment of up to 500 characters. The reason is required; the comment is not. This feedback helps us improve the product and neither changes nor delays the deletion.
Step 3 — Confirmation: we ask for your current password, the two-factor code (if the account has it enabled) and the word EXCLUIR typed exactly like that, in capitals. Only then is the final button released.
At any of the three steps you can go back or cancel with no consequence at all.
5. What happens on confirmation
Deletion is immediate. There is no queue, no grace period and no cooling-off window: once you confirm, everything below happens at once.
Subscription: cancelled on the spot, with no future charges and no pro-rata refund of the period already paid.
Company data: workspaces, customers, projects, tasks, time entries, tags, timesheet periods, billing rates, costs, invitations, brand assets, access history, notification devices, tax registration data and the audit trail are removed from the Platform.
Team: every session, app token and browser-extension access code is revoked immediately, on any device, and each member receives an email about the closure.
Personal data: name, email and phone number stop identifying you and your team in our database — they are replaced with anonymous values.
Confirmation: you receive an email confirming the deletion.
The operation runs as a single block: if anything fails midway, nothing is half-deleted — everything is rolled back and the account stays exactly as it was, so you can try again.
6. What stays on record — and why
Even after deletion, a few minimal records stay with us for a limited time. This is not a copy of your account: it is information the law requires us to keep, or that protects the Platform itself.
Deletion record: date, stated reason, IP address of the request and confirmation that it came from someone with permission — the evidence that the process was carried out correctly.
Access logs: kept for the retention period set out in the Brazilian Internet Civil Framework.
Subscription tax documents: kept for the period required by tax legislation.
Fraud and abuse prevention: we keep minimal markers that stop the same company from repeatedly reusing the free trial.
All of this is done within the limits of Law No. 13,709/2018 (LGPD) and only for as long as necessary. Once those periods elapse, these records are erased too. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
7. You may not need to delete at all
Deletion is permanent and wipes out the history of the whole operation. In most cases there is a lighter path that solves the same problem.
If the goal is to stop paying: cancel the subscription in Settings. Access ends when the paid cycle finishes, without erasing the history right away.
If the goal is to cut costs: move to a smaller plan. Changing plans does not delete data — what stops being displayed remains stored and becomes accessible again if you return to a plan that includes it.
If the goal is to remove someone from the system: remove that user in team management. The seat is freed and the rest of the account stays intact.
If the goal is to solve a usage problem: talk to us through chat support or check the Help Center.
8. After deletion
Access stops working immediately and there is no way to recover the account, the data or the history — not through support, not through a later request.
If one day you want to use WiseData Time again, you will have to create a new account from scratch. Nothing from the previous one is restored.
9. Questions and your data rights
For questions about the process, talk to us through in-platform support.
To exercise the rights set out in article 18 of the LGPD — access, correction, anonymisation, portability or erasure of personal data — use the public privacy request form. It works even after deletion, when you no longer have access to the Platform to open a ticket.
One important note: data about people registered inside the Platform belongs to the company that registered them, which is the controller of that data. If you are part of a team that uses WiseData Time and want your data deleted, the request must go to that company — we act as processor and provide the necessary support, as article 39 of the LGPD requires.
